Hi, I’m Aliya Foutner, founder and CEO of The Loc Spot Detroit.

What started as a passion for healthy loc care has grown into a movement dedicated to changing the way people experience loc services. I founded The Loc Spot with one goal in mind: to create a professional, welcoming space where every client feels seen, respected, and confident walking out the door.

Today, The Loc Spot is known for quality workmanship, consistency, and a commitment to healthy hair. Beyond servicing clients, I’m passionate about educating the next generation of locticians through hands-on training and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to build successful businesses of their own.

I believe locs are more than a hairstyle—they’re a lifestyle, a culture, and a form of self-expression. Every service, every class, and every expansion of The Loc Spot is rooted in that belief.
